Weekend Recap:

This weekend in CedarVille, we discovered how God hears our prayers. We know that He always hears us and answers in the best way and at the best time.

Scripture:

As a family read about Solomon (1 Kings 3:1-15). Also take time to read a key verse from this weekend:
“And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.” 1 John 5:14-15

Family Discussion Questions:

What did Solomon ask for? What is wisdom? Did God hear Solomon’s prayer? Why was God pleased with Solomon asking for wisdom? If you could ask God for anything, what would you ask for? Read the key verse again. How do we know we can be confident in our prayers?

Family Activity:

Solomon trusted God and knew that he could ask Him for anything. We can ask God for anything too, but we also should get in the habit of talking to Him about our life. As a family, talk about each person’s “you go!” moments (great, good things to celebrate) and “uh oh” moments (low, not so great things) for the day. Then pray for one another! God loves to hear about all the highs and lows of our days. He wants us to thank Him and ask Him for help.

Memory Verse:

In CedarVille, we have the opportunity to memorize a verse and earn a special treat. It makes all the difference when families work on memorizing the verse together! This week take time to practice Philippians 4:4-5. The verse is found below. Check out our CedarVille.tv Facebook page for motions that can help your family learn the memory verse together!

Preschool:
“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again — Rejoice!” – Philippians 4:4

Elementary:
“Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again — Rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.” – Philippians 4:4-5
